SUMMARY:La Principal de la Bisbal + Els Montgrins (26è Concert de la Costa Brava - Memorial Ricard Viladesau)
DESCRIPTION:The Agrupació Sardanista Costa Brava is organizing this concert dedicated to Ricard Viladesau\, the prince of the tenora\, for the 26th consecutive year. The concert format of this activity\, the respect and passion of the audience\, and the musical quality provided by two of the best coblas in Catalonia\, make this concert an unquestionable reference. The concert consists of two parts: in the first part a repertoire of various sardanas is performed alternately by the two coblas. In the second part\, however\, a joint repertoire is performed that\, at times\, tend to be compositions that are not strictly sardanas. La Principal de La Bisbal is a cobla of sardanas founded in 1888 by members of the Cobla Vella from the town of La Bisbal d’Empordà In 1932 it was chosen as the official cobla of the Generalitat de Catalunya\, a title that was restored to it in 1978 by President Josep Tarradellas. In 2014 it received the National Culture Prize of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The cobla Els Montgrins was founded in 1884 in Torroella de Montgrí by Pere Rigau i Poch\, known as “Barretó”. Els Montgrins is the oldest cobla group in existence today and one of the most prestigious musical groups in Catalonia.

SUMMARY:Guillem Batllori & Cobla La Principal del Llobregat
DESCRIPTION:This concert offers a unique encounter between the lyrical voice and the unmistakable sound of the cobla\, in a musical journey full of contrasts\, emotion and proximity. The program will combine brilliant moments of grand opera with the unique melodies and sound colors of Catalan song and melodies deeply rooted in our culture. \nThroughout the evening\, emblematic characters from the operatic repertoire and well-known to the general public will appear\, with arias full of character\, humor and theatricality\, in harmony with pieces of great poetic sensitivity by Catalan composers such as Eduard Toldrà or Xavier Montsalvatge. There will also be space for melodies that evoke the Mediterranean landscape and spirit and Palamosí\, as well as for songs that form part of the country’s collective memory. \nThe timbre richness of the Principal del Llobregat cobla and the brilliant lyrical voice of Guillem Batllori dialogue in a proposal that unites elegance\, emotion and cultural roots\, establishing a natural bridge between the operatic universe and the deepest essence of the Catalan musical tradition.

SUMMARY:Obeses amb Cobla Berga Jove
DESCRIPTION:The collaboration between the Cobla Berga Jove and the Obeses amb el seu cor group is an innovative proposal that combines the strength of rock with the traditional sonority of the cobla. The project premiered in the summer of 2019 at the “Amb So de Cobla” Festival in Palamós\, offering a unique show that reinterprets the Obeses repertoire with arrangements for cobla\, exploring new musical registers and expanding the limits of both genres. Since then\, the project has toured various stages with great success\, highlighting performances such as those at the Teatre Kursaal in Manresa or at the Festes de Sant Narcís in Girona. At each concert\, the combination of Arnau Tordera’s voice and the instruments of the cobla has captivated the audience\, demonstrating the capacity of Catalan music to reinvent itself without losing its essence. This show has managed to bring cobla closer to new audiences and consolidate a unique artistic proposal within the country’s musical panorama.

SUMMARY:Transmediterranea Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:All the music of the Mediterranean is interconnected. Every melody\, every rhythm\, has roots somewhere else in the region. Music is a language of transmission\, not of competition: the songs belong to those who sing them and those who dance them. Like no other force\, it crosses temporal and geographical borders\, uniting cultures and generations. \nWith this spirit was born Transmediterranea Orchestra\, a superband formed by musicians from Biflats\, Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra\, Girona Jazz Project\, Gramophone All Stars\, Juantxo Skalari & La Rude Band\, Los Manolos\, Lluís Coloma & His Musical Troupe\, Gertrudis\, Rosa Luxemburg\, Dagoll Dagom\, Orquestra Basarab\, Manel Fuentes & Spring’s Team\, Always Drinking Marching Band and several coblas. \nRooted in the power and sonority of the fanfare with cobla sound\, the band fuses this legacy with the rhythms of the Balkans\, klezmer music and the sounds of North Africa\, Greece and Turkey. The result is a modern and danceable proposal\, where the strength of traditional instrumentation is combined with contemporary elements such as electronics. \nMore than a concert\, Transmediterranea Orchestra offers an immersive experience: a journey through Mediterranean history and diversity through music. With a striking staging and a festive and dynamic live performance\, the group fuses the energy of the popular festival with the spirit of the fanfare\, creating a unique proposal within the current panorama.
